Soup to Nuts Live!

There's no mistaking the voice. Or the songwriting. Once again, Jeanne Jolly brought the whole package to WHQR's Soup To Nuts Live! in Wilmington NC on Thursday, April 18, 2013. 8-string guitarist (and Jeanne's producer) Chris Boerner and drummer Nick Baglio painted a wonderfully melodic backdrop for Jeanne's performance.

A true Wilmington native and local favorite, Brent Stimmel was born in Wilmington and spent much of his younger years in Raleigh. During his time at UNCW, Brent honed his voice and started performing at open mic nights around Wilmington. He became a Sunday monring staple at The Dixie Grill, amassing a loyal following that supports him some 10 years later.

Here's a clip from the performance:

Please join us Thursday, February 28 for a special performance by local singer-songwriter Brent Stimmel. On-air host George Scheibner will interview the performer during breaks in the show. You'll hear the music and find out about the musician creating it.

WHQR’s  webmaster John Mortara has asked me to list some of my favorite “Soup to Nuts Live” performances of the past year, but I thought it best to just recall highlights from all eight of our 2011 musical performers.
