pledge drive

Here at WHQR, our Summer Drive is sounding very different – that’s because it is the Summer Stealth Drive and it’s going on right now!

Our spring pledge drive starts March 16th. We want to Take a Day Off and make it in only 6 days. Give an early gift and with your help we’ll get right back to the programming you love faster. Help us Take a Day Off now at WHQR-dot-org. During our upcoming On-Air Pledge Drive, WHQR will celebrate our values of Quality, Community, and Service. Our goal is to raise $140,000 to provide the programming you count on – Morning Edition, All Things Considered, CoastLine, Classical Music, Communique and so much more.

Tell Your WHQR Story!

We need your help! It goes without saying that we, the staff of WHQR, think we've got a good thing going. We want to hear (and share) YOU and YOUR TESTIMONY. We are asking our listeners, supporters, underwriters and community members to call in and tell people why you support WHQR and why it's important to make a pledge, as part of our Fall Pledge drive.

We want to know:

Phone Teams for the Spring "Take A Day Off" Pledge Drive 2017

ALL PHONE SHIFTS ARE FULL. THANK YOU!!!!

During our 2017 Spring Pledge Drive, March 16 - ??? (we hope to make our goal by March 21), WHQR will be welcoming phone teams from all over our region. Send a group of four people to help answer HQR's pledge phones and we'll thank you repeatedly on the air. It's a fun way to spend a few hours and a great way to show your support of WHQR and have your business name mentioned on the air.

Here’s how it will work:

Thanks for all you do to keep listeners on top of things. I look forward to receiving the [station’s] emails regularly. What’s happened to Friday Feedback? It hasn’t been on air for several weeks. Happy Holidays, to everyone at WHQR.

Non-profits in the Cape Fear region know that WHQR Public Radio is an essential part of a strong marketing plan, and one of the best ways to expand their reach.

Here at WHQR, our Summer Drive is sounding very different – that’s because it is the Summer Stealth Drive and it’s going on right now!

This year we’re trying something completely different. We’re trying to meet our summer goal of $70,000 without interrupting programing. It seems like a crazy idea, but your donation will make it possible.

It's day three of WHQR's Spring Pledge Drive!

We are running a fantastic Grand Sweepstakes for our Spring 2015 Pledge Drive! Pledge now and you could win this great getaway from Umstead Hotel and Spa:

Our Fall Pledge Drive begins tomorrow at 6 am, but we are taking

WHQR needs individuals to answer phones during our  Summer 2014 Pledge Drive. Pledges are taken by computer, so all volunteers should feel comfortable typing and using the system. Shifts begin with a brief orientation and can be a fun way to meet other Public Radio fans and hang out with the WHQR staff! To sign up, email Jarred at memberservices@whqr.org with the specific day and time that you would like to take and your name and contact information.

You need to stop claiming you don't run commercials. You most emphatically do run commercials, constantly. You simply insult the intelligence of your listeners by calling them euphemisms instead of commercials. Don't do that.

Update: The Wine Not event with Whole Foods Market was a huge success!

We had nearly 265 people come through and raised $1,319 for WHQR! Thank you for supporting WHQR and helping us keep your favorite public radio programming on-air.
