Linda Lavin on her new CD, "Possibilities"

Today marks the official release date of Linda Lavin’s first CD, “Possibilities”. It features an eclectic mix of Broadway standards and cabaret songs, with musical direction, arrangements and piano by Billy Stritch. It’s a big day for the Tony- and Golden Globe winning actress and Wilmington resident...and although she’s celebrating tonight with a release party at New York City’s Birdland (the famous jazz club) she took some time out to talk with WHQR’s George Scheibner about the new CD.

Cleve Callison reports on the 2011 Spoleto and Piccolo Spoleto Festivals in Charleston, SC

Charleston, SC – The 35th annual Spoleto Festival began May 27th in Charleston, South Carolina and runs though June 12th. WHQR Station Manager Cleve Callison was there, and reports that the Festival continues to burst at the seams with offerings, including sacred music in sacred spaces, a vibrant Dock Street Chamber Music Series, and The Magic Flute -- among many, many others.
