Lower Cape Fear Hospice (LCFH) is raising money for its youth bereavement programs in Columbus and Bladen Counties with the Southern Shindig: Healing Young Hearts on Saturday, June 10, 7:00pm-10:00pm at the Columbus County Fairgrounds. The party features music by Gary Lowder & Smokin’ Hot and food from award-winning barbeque chef Matthew Register from Southern Smoke BBQ. This fundraiser supports LCFH’s Sunrise Kids programs. More than 90 percent of people think it is important to talk about end-of-life care.  Fewer than 30 percent actually do it.  That’s according to the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, a Massachusetts-based independent nonprofit.

Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center is having a Gala: Last Chance for White Pants, so named in honor of summer fashion coming to a close.  This fundraising event is on Saturday, August 29th at the Audi Cape Fear on Eastwood Road.  In addition to the party, a limited number of raffle tickets are available to enter the drawing for a 2015 Audi A5 Cabriolet convertible.
