Wilmington, NC – In an attempt to enhance the safety of children on school buses, the state is holding its annual program Operation Stop Arm.
The program is designed to crack down on motorists, who choose to pass a stopped school bus while dropping off and picking up children.
Lt. Everett Clendenin of the North Carolina Highway Patrol says, each school day over 1,000 of these violations take place throughout the state.
