No Boundaries 2015: Exhibit Opens Saturday 11/21

Nov 18, 2015

Artists Fritzi Huber (Wilmington) and Michelle Connolly (Australia) visited the studio shortly before their departure for a yearly artist retreat-No Boundaries International Art Colony.  This year, the Colony at Bald Head Island hosts 12 artists, 8 from abroad.  Over the 2 week retreat, which began the second week of November, the artists create works in a mostly undistracted environment-even meals are prepared for them by volunteers.

Local artist Fritzi Huber curated a show called "If It Fits, Mail It" at ACME Studios downtown.  The show has one simple stipulation:  if the postal service would deliver the piece, it would be hung in the show.  Two-hundred pieces of art were mailed to ACME from 10 countries.

The opening reception for this exhibit was at the end of June, but the exhibit is open until the third week in July.  The closing reception will be on Friday, July 17th.

Les Trois Amis, a new show at the Acme Art Studios in downtown Wilmington, will have the three artists on hand Saturday, March 31st from 10 AM to 4 PM to chat with the public, following a lively opening earlier this month.
