Friday Feedback

We’d love to hear from you on Friday Feedback. WHQR takes comments on all aspects of its programming and operations. Leave feedback by calling the station at 910-262-9477 or by emailing feedback@whqr.org. Your comments may be read on air during Friday's Morning Edition at 7:45 and 8:49 am, and during All Things Considered at 5:44 pm. As always, thanks for your feedback.

A listener who describes himself as a 20-year fan says:

I'm a long-time listener and generous supporter who begins my day at 5AM listening to Morning Edition.

Listener Paul from Oak Island is not a fan of Diane Rehm. He tweeted:

...sure do wish [Science Friday] was still 2-4pm! . . . thank goodness for podcasts!

And we had a similar message from Ron Cohen, but he prefers that her show

...should be dropped and music substituted. Less irrelevant and purposeless ventilation and more life-affirming music.

Listener Bob wrote what he called his “humble opinions”:

You may have noticed that the last few weeks’ Feedbacks have had us basking in compliments. Maybe it’s the change from Daylight Saving Time, but we have several of the other kind today.

Listener Melissa called to say she is feeling grumpy about WHQR. She described herself as a longtime listener who donates regularly.

Wednesday, November 9: Political scientist Ralph Kornegay will be our guest live at 7:40 and 8:40 during today's Morning Edition to discuss yesterday's election returns. Send your questions to feedback@whqr.org.

Each week we read questions and comments from WHQR listeners. So whatever's on your mind, good, bad or indifferent about any aspect of our programming or operations, let us hear from you. You can send us an email to feedback@whqr.org and we'll air it on Friday at 7:35 and 8:50 am, and 5:45 pm.

This week's topics: WHQR's new website, programming questions, our contact info,  the "people" section, finding the web archives.

Last week we gave you a sample of some comments made by members who joined WHQR during our Fall fund drive that. Now it’s the turn of some of our renewing members.

The Friday after a fund drive is always a good source of material for Friday Feedback, and we had a bumper crop this time, with comments from over 800 listener-members. Of course we’re very happy that the drive went over its goal by the stated end last Tuesday, and especially happy that we had pledges from 295 new members. So we decided to limit today’s selections to new members only, to see what the tipping point is that converts a listener into a member.
