On this edition of the CoastLine Candidate Interviews, we’re talking with David Rouzer.  He’s North Carolina’s  Republican Congressman from Johnston County in the 7th District who has served one term and is seeking a second.  Before winning a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, David Rouzer served in the North Carolina Senate for two terms – representing the 12th district. 

Update:  The Senate approved the House changes late Thursday.  Senate Bill 786 is now on Governor Pat McCrory's desk awaiting a signature. 

North Carolina is one step closer to allowing hydraulic fracturing in the state.

A Senate committee is recommending a protocol it says the state of North Carolina should follow while legalizing a controversial form of natural gas drilling.

As state lawmakers consider whether to allow drilling for natural gas – or fracking -- in North Carolina, Attorney General Roy Cooper has been looking into consumer protection issues surrounding the practice.
