Downtown Wilmington is being adorned with new outdoor art through Pedestrian Art Public Sculpture program. A free public reception is at Expo 216 on Front Street on Sunday, July 16. The artists will be there, along with sponsors from the Arts Council of Wilmington, the Dreams Center, Artworks, City of Wilmington, and more. Guests have the opportunity to take a trolley ride with the artists to see the 9 new installations-and some new locations downtown. Shuttle tours are at 1:00pm, 2:45, and 4:00, leaving from Expo 216. The reception itself begins at 2:00pm.

Carole Osman

Amy Grant, the owner and manager of Art in Bloom Gallery, paired two artists for her latest exhibit: Catching the Spirit: Images by Mark Gansor and Carole Osman. Gansor's paintings include realistic acrylic buildings, gardens, and fields, while Osman presents pastel, monoprint, collage, oil, and acrylic work.  The opening reception for this exhibit is Friday, 2/24, part of 4th Friday Gallery Walk, 6:00pm-9:00pm.

Artist Janette Hopper and photographer Charles Kernan joined us in the studio to talk about a new exhibit at Art in Bloom Gallery: Visible Spectra. It's a collection of oil, watercolor, and sumi ink by Janette Hopper and photographs by Charles Kernan. Hopper and Kernan both love nature and this exhibit expresses that love with about 75 pieces between them.
