Wilmington, NC – A special course on Wilmington race relations is coming to Wilmington this month. It's called "Wilmington in Black and White," and author Tim Tyson and gospel singer Mary Williams will teach this six-week course open to the community.
A group of community leaders called "The Big Picture Talkers" organized the course as a way get a full spectrum of Wilmington residents to share a space, a dialog and an opportunity to explore the good and the bad is the city's history of race relations.
WHQR's Jemila Ericson chatted with Tim and Mary earlier this month to talk about the project.
They start their conversation with Tim Tyson describing the course.
