CAPE FEAR MEMORIAL BRIDGE CLOSURE: UPDATES, RESOURCES, AND CONTEXT

What Would Your Childhood Memories Look Like As Art?

We are calling for story submissions from WHQR listeners for an upcoming MC Erny Gallery art show featuring Jeff Brown, Katie Caprara, and Mark Weber.

The theme is Childhood Memories: Lost Treasures, Time Capsule Items, and Adventures with First Best Friends

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have an artist depict a story from your life? Here is your chance!

Three local artists are putting together a series of artistic works that portray the childhood memories of WHQR listeners. We are calling for story submissions of 500 words or less about lost childhood treasures, childhood items you would put in a time capsule, or an adventure you had with your first best friend. If your story is chosen you might see it on display in WHQR’s MC Erny Gallery.

You can view samples of all three artists' work by clicking through the slide show at the top of this post!

You can send your submission or questions to Melissa Stone at webservices@whqr.org. The deadline is Wednesday, February 24th, 2016 by 5 pm. We look forward to hearing your stories! Chosen writers will be notified and their stories will be featured in an art show at WHQR’s MC Erny Gallery!
