CAPE FEAR MEMORIAL BRIDGE: Updates, resources, and context

WECT's U.S. Senate Candidate Debate LIVE Thursday on HQR News 91.3 FM

LIVE U.S. SENATE DEBATE HELD IN WILMINGTON

WECT-TV, a Raycom Media affiliate, along with the League of Women Voters of the Lower Cape Fear have secured an agreement with the three leading candidates for the United States Senate, Sen. Kay Hagan (D), state House Speaker Thom Tillis (R) and Sean Haugh (L) to debate the issues facing North Carolinians live in studio from 7:00pm – 8:00pm on Thursday, October 9th. The debate is expected to be the last chance voters will be able to see all the candidates in one location talking about the issues prior to election day.

The debate will be aired live on HQR News 91.3 FM, WECT television in the Wilmington market and live streamed on wect.com.

“We are pleased all the candidates agreed to join us in our studio to discuss the very important issues facing this state,” said WECT General Manager and Vice President Gary McNair. “This continues our commitment to the community to educate as many people as possible before Election Day.”

Veteran journalist and evening anchor Jon Evans is the moderator of the debate.

Rachel hosts and produces CoastLine, an award-winning hourlong conversation featuring artists, humanitarians, scholars, and innovators in North Carolina. The show airs Wednesdays at noon and Sundays at 4 pm on 91.3 FM WHQR Public Media. It's also available as a podcast; just search CoastLine WHQR. You can reach her at rachellh@whqr.org.
