Visit the WHQR SoundGarden For PARK(ing) Day 2015

Sep 11, 2015

WHQR is participating in the national PARK(ing) Day by taking over a parking space and creating a lush SoundGarden. The garden will be located in a parking space directly in front of HQR’s Studios at 254 N. Front Street and will be open from 11am – 6pm on Friday, September 18, 2015.

Listeners and passersby are invited to visit the lush and welcoming SoundGarden to meet the WHQR staff and DJs who will be in the garden all day. We have also invited acoustic musicians (both classical and bluegrass) to come by for mini-concerts throughout the day. WHQR reporters will also be conducting man-on-the-street interviews in the garden throughout the day.

The mission of PARK(ing) Day is to call attention to the need for more urban open space, to generate debate around how public space is created and allocated, and to improve the quality of urban human habitat...at least until the meter runs out! Read more about PARK(ing) Day 2015 here.
