Wilmington, NC – New Hanover County Board of Elections Chairman Margaret Haynes says voter turnout was higher than average for the Wilmington mayor and city council election.
She says one-stop voting was also up. 21%of registered voters - or 15,275 voters - cast ballots Tuesday.
Election results will remain unofficial until the Board of Elections meets on Tuesday, October 16th to canvas the election.
