It's taken a decade, but Trampled by Turtles' music has officially crossed over into the mainstream. The Minnesota band's most recent albums, Palomino and the new Stars and Satellites, have helped Trampled by Turtles make the transition from club favorite to the sort of cult sensation that draws enormous festival crowds.
Stars and Satellites finds the group taking a more introspective view: It's quieter and builds more slowly, but it also feels right for the band at this point in its career. The new songs don't have quite the frenetic kick of Trampled by Turtles' live shows, but look for the group to amp up its energy during the busy summer of 2012, when it appears at high-profile festivals like Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Rock the Garden, Sasquatch and Austin City Limits.
