Soup To Nuts LIVE! Presents: The TWJ Trio July 21st & 22nd

WHQR broadcasts its next Soup to Nuts LIVE! performance this Friday, July 21st, at 8 pm, and also Saturday, July 22nd, at 9 PM. Featuring the TWJ Trio, we will hear a mixture of Broadway Favorites and Jazz Standards. The show will be on air on 91.3 FM.

Acclaimed for his superb musicality in oratorio and operatic roles, tenor Robert Anthony Workmon has been a featured soloist with the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra, Winston-Salem Symphony, Piedmont Chamber Singers, the Greensboro Oratorio Society, St. Petersburg Opera, Peoria Opera, and the Piedmont Opera Theatre.  He is also known among Wilmington’s musical theater audiences for his many performances, most notably in Opera House Theatre Company's production of Les Miserables and The Most Happy Fella, for which he won a Star-News Wilmington Theater Award for best actor in a musical. Bob is a freelance correspondent for the Wilmington Star-News, and his voice can be heard daily on local NPR station, 91.3 WHQR.

Julia Jewell serves as Director of Music at Wrightsville United Methodist Church, a position she has held for 22 years.  She leads the jazz group, The Port City Trio, and appears regularly as accompanist and soloist throughout the Wilmington region.  Together with her husband, Kelly, she owns and manages Ted’s Fun on the River, a listening room venue in downtown Wilmington, NC.  She is also an accomplished composer, and one of her works “Dance of the Coin” will be a featured selection on a Wilmington Symphony Orchestra concert this coming season.

Nicole Thompson moved to Wilmington in 2011 from Minneapolis, Minnesota. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music degree from Mankato State University, and continued her studies at The Lundstrum Center for the Performing Arts. Her career in arts and entertainment has been very diverse, including roles in production, arts administration, event planning and marketing, in addition to a diverse performance background. Her style ranges from jazz standards and popular songs, to classical arias and gospel music. Recognized for her versatile musicality, Ms. Thompson has been a soloist with the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra, the Urban Spectrum Theater Company, and the Lundstrum Center for the Performing Arts. Nicole Thompson is the Marketing & Development Assistant for the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra, Vocal Instructor for the Wilmington Boys Choir, and Owner of two businesses, The Butler Did It! and Artsmith Consulting.
