Singles Soirée is a new event, a Valentine's Day fundraiser for all ages in support of The Davis Community (assisted living, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation). In fact, it's their first fundraiser after nearly 50 years. Julie Rehder dropped by the station on Tuesday for our Midday Interview.
The event, for singles and couples of all ages, will be Sunday Feburary 14th (Valentine's Day) from 7:30 - 11:00 pm. It will feature the band LaCi and related activities:
- a sing-along to great heartbreak tunes
- a prize for the best breakup story
- gypsy fortune teller
- poetry slam (haiku)
- comfort food
Besides being fun, this event will bring attention to the thousands of seniors in our region who have lost loved ones or spouses, and who could use a visit or two year round.
