Wilmington, NC – Mayoral Candidate Harper Peterson says his defeat surprised him.
Peterson campaigned against the convention center and water and sewer authority. He says Bill Saffo's victory gives city council a clear direction to move in.
I thought those were touch points that the voting populist would come out, respond to. But clearly again we'll wait for the final results, but I'll just have to sleep on it.
Unofficial results show the third candidate, Justin Lanasa, garnered nearly 5% of the vote.
