On Monday, June 13th, Ben Steelman of the StarNews will talk with author Anne Russell about her children's book The Mystical, Magical, Amazing, Fantastical Gardens of Airlie. Join us for the conversation in the MC Erny Gallery at WHQR.

About the Author and Her Work:

A Wilmington native, Russell holds a Ph.D. in American studies and has taught at Barton College and UNC-Pembroke. Russell studied drama at Greenwich House children's theatre in NYC, and performed with the Thalians in Wilmington, NC. She is a charter member of Playwrights Producing Comonay, and earned an MFA in creative writing at UNC Wilmington. Her film documentaries, Remarkable Journey: The Albemarle and Remarkable Journey: The Cape Fear, have been broadcast on UNC Public TV. She is the author of numerous books, including a history of the Carolina Yacht Club, Wilmington: A Pictorial History and The Wayward Girls of Samarcand (with Melton McLaurin), a previous Prologue selection.
