Padgett Retains Seat on City Council

Wilmington, NC – Unofficial results show Laura Padgett has been re-elected to Wilmington's City Council with 19% of the vote.

Padgett says during the upcoming term she'll be concerned with fixing the city's sewer and traffic problems.

But I'm also concerned about quality of life. We need our parks and recreation spaces, green spaces, to have that quality of life. We need to make sure that we have affordable places to live. And we need to pay attention to our neighborhoods.

Padgett is the only candidate to receive enough votes to lock in her position on the city council.
