Old Books on Front Street holds First Annual Poetry Festival

Feb 3, 2012

Couplet:  Two Days of Verse kicks off Saturday, February 4th and runs through Sunday the 5th.  It's the first poetry festival of its kind in Wilmington, and organizers say they hope to see it become an annual tradition.

Poets Addy Robinson McCulloch and Steve Roberts dropped by the WHQR studios to talk with Rachel Lewis Hilburn about the festival, read poetry, and argue against the notion that poetry is an elite art form.

During our Classical block on Tuesdays through Fridays at 12:06, Jemila Ericson and other staff members host a celebration of the arts and culture of the Lower Cape Fear. They interview artists, actors, dancers, writers and creators of community events--all the inspiring movers and shakers who enrich our lives.
