New Programs Coming to WHQR Next Week!

WHQR is excited to announce four new programs  – The Daily, Performance Today, SymphonyCast and From The Top – are joining the lineup on HQR News 91.3fm or Classical HQR 92.7fm beginning this Monday, April 30th! 

The New York Times program The Daily will air Monday – Friday at 6pm on HQR News 91.3fm. 
Hosted by Michael Barbaro and powered by The New York Times' newsroom, The Daily brings listeners the biggest stories of our time, told by the best journalists in the world. The Daily focuses on just one or two stories each weekday, offering listeners a 30-minute, deep, textured portrait of the characters and human stakes driving the news.

Performance Today returns to WHQR, airing Monday – Friday at 12:06pm on Classical HQR 92.7fm.
Performance Today features the best live performance recordings from concerts halls around the world, as well as in-studio performances and interviews with an eclectic mix of guests. Hosted by Fred Child, this daily, two-hour program is frequently on the road, with special broadcasts from festivals and public radio stations around the country. 

SymphonyCast will air Fridays at 8pm on Classical HQR 92.7fm
Share the exuberance and excitement of the concert hall with audiences at home and on the go. SymphonyCast features full-length concerts recently performed by the best orchestras from around the world. This two-hour weekly program showcases material drawn from Europe's premier symphony orchestras and festivals (including several weeks each summer at the BBC Proms), along with U.S. orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Houston Symphony, and Minnesota Orchestra. 

From The Top will air Saturdays at noon on Classical HQR 92.7fm. 
From the Top with Host Christopher O'Riley celebrates the stories, talents, and character of America’s best young classically-trained musicians. The weekly one-hour radio series presents pre-collegiate musicians whose stunning individual performances are combined with lively interviews, unique pre-produced segments, lighthearted sketches and musical games.
