On Saturday April 26th the Wilmington Symphony and the UNC Wilmington Opera Outreach Program (UNC WOOP) will present a fully-staged production of Mozart's The Magic Flute. Associate Professor of Music Nancy King is the stage manager and freshman tenor Daniel Papparozzi is Prince Tamino. They were the guests on this edition of Midday Interview. They discussed

  • the fiendish difficulty of Mozart's writing for tenors
  • how to get an orchestra and full cast in costume on one stage
  • where the name WOOP came from (hint: late nights are involved)
  • how Stephen Errante can be in three places at once
  • how to stage an opera where the action hero does nothing

Stephen Errante will conduct the Wilmington Symphony in this performance
