Peggy PancoeRosoff and Beverly Schoninger tell us all about Wilmington’s First Annual Jewish Film Festival. On Sunday, October 13th at 3:00 in Thalian Hall, the film Broadway Musicals: A Jewish Legacy will be shown. It features Al Jolson, Nathan Lane, Barbara Streisand, Zero Mostel and many more stars, with music by George and Ira Gerswhin, Irving Berlin, Stephen Sondheim, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Rodgers and Hart and other great American Jewish writers.
The writer/producer/director Michael Kantor will be present for a Q and A after the screening; Todd Berliner and Phil Furia from UNCW will also speak, with Bucky Stein moderating the discussion. A reception follows with a little nosh for everyone! Tickets are only $10, but please reserve yours ahead of time so the caterers know how much food to bring!
The Festival will start up again in April with three days of films. For details, visit the Wilmington Jewish Film Festival on facebook.
