CAPE FEAR MEMORIAL BRIDGE CLOSURE: UPDATES, RESOURCES, AND CONTEXT

Midday Interview: Film Festival Programmer Shona Thomson

Shona Thomson and Jemila Ericson

Today's guest, film festival programmer Shona Thomson is with us all the way from Edinburgh, Scotland.  Lucky us, Thomson is here for two weeks asartist-in-residence for the upcoming film festival, Cucalorus. In preparation for the much-beloved upcoming Cucalorus film festival, Thomson is here to tell us about two exciting events she has planned. On Friday, August 8 at 8 pm at Jengo's Playhouse, Thomson will be offering a special live guided tour of her highly acclaimed image collection "A Kind of Seeing: Scotland on Film." Next, on Monday, August 11 at 6pm at the New Hanover Public Library, Thomson will be hosting a night of  rare, archived films under the banner of "Going to the Movies: From Scotland to Wilmington."  For more information on Thomson and her role in Cucalorus visit www.cucalorus.org/residency.asp.

*Shona Thomson is looking for your help! Do you have photos, films or moviegoing paraphenalia from past Cucalorus festivals? Would you be willing to share your memories or advice?  Please bring both your stories and your memorabilia to her August 11 "Going to the Movies: From Scotland to Wilmington" event.
