Jerald Shynett is directing the UNCW JAZZFEST for the third year this spring. The event was launched 30 years ago by Frank Bongiorno, now the department chair of UNCW's Music Department. In this interview, Jerald Shynett talks about the opportunity 20 high school students are getting through this program and he describes the two guest artists this year-Wess "Warmdaddy" Anderson (saxophone) and Tom Garling (trombone). We got Warmaddy on the phone, and part of that conversation is at the end of the interview.
