Indie Film Fest Cucalorus Begins

Wilmington, NC – Independent filmmakers are converging onto Wilmington for the Cucalorus Film Festival.

It's screening more than 200 films including documentaries and features.

Cucalorus Film Festival Director Dan Brawley says they received nearly a thousand submissions.

One of the amazing thing that happens every year is that we show up to the mailbox every day and these curious little packages show up, you don't know what they are, they're kinda like gifts. Some of them are welcome and then some of them are curious.

The Cucalorus Film Festival screens shorts, documentaries and full-length features. The festival runs through Saturday.
