ILM Airport Tarmac Fixes Thanks to FAA

Wilmington, NC – The Wilmington International Airport received a little more than $900,000 in federal funding for maintenance to its tarmac.

Deputy Airport Director Julie Wilsey says the tarmac is more than 20-years-old, and the Federal Aviation Administration grant will help the airport make the repairs needed on tarmac's every ten years.

"The more you stay on top of it and the more you're vigilant about this, the less damage is done in the long run."

Wilsey says the Wilmington airport is expecting more FAA funding in the fall for further repairs to the tarmac.
