This week is Flamingo Week at Occasions...Just Write in memory of Jim Mahan, who passed away in 2012. Jim was the husband of Peggy Mahan, the owner of Occasions...Just Write in the Cotton Exchange downtown-and a great fan of flamingos.
The celebration this year includes a raffle, the prize being "Candy Floss," the 7-foot tall pink flamingo. Raffle tickets are available through this Saturday, May 20 at the store. The raffle supports Cape Fear Hospice and Lifecare Center.
