With no Democratic challenger, the winner of the primary election for North Carolina House District 20 is a shoo-in for the seat.  During yesterday’s primary election, voters chose businesswoman and Army veteran Holly Grange over Tammy Covil, a New Hanover County Board of Education member.  Grange won by more than 24 percent.

Two-term Republican Rick Catlin chose not to run for reelection to District 20, which covers portions of New Hanover County. Now that Holly Grange has won the Republican nomination, she says she’s going to hit the ground running:

"I will go to Raleigh with Rick Catlin for the short session to kind of get used to how things work in Raleigh.  I will start probably with the Republican Women’s Caucus breakfast, the first morning of the session.  I want to start working with the other representatives to the General Assembly from our area, so that we can work together to get our platform going."

Grange says that representatives of the Cape Fear region need to focus on job growth, as well as improvements to infrastructure and education.
