A man is in the hospital after yet another shark attack off the North Carolina coast just after noon on Wednesday. The victim sustained multiple injuries.

It’s the seventh shark bite off the North Carolina coast this season and the third in the Outer Banks.
This one happened at the National Park Service Day Use Area on Okracoke. Emergency responders found a man in his late 60s with bites to his rib cage, hip, lower leg, and both hands. He had been swimming just past the first breaker in front of the lifeguard stand when, according to Hyde County officials, a six to seven-foot-long grey shark pulled the man underwater.
EMS airlifted him to a medical center in Greenville for treatment.
Two other swimmers were bitten by sharks over the weekend in the Outer Banks within about 15 miles of each other.
In mid-June, two kids swimming near Oak Island in Brunswick County lost parts of their arms to sharks within less than two hours off the same stretch of beach.
Two other children sustained minor injuries in June: last week in Pender County, an 8-year-old boy had superficial bites to his foot and leg. On June 11, a 13-year-old girl also sustained minor bites to her foot -- with a large chunk taken out of her boogie board.
