Green Business Leaders Converge
By Roderick McClain
09-14-10 – Small business owners, engineers, and venture capitalists from across the state will converge in Wrightsville Beach tomorrow for the Emerging Green Business Conference.
The conference will feature several North Carolina businesses as models of success in a downturned economy, with innovations ranging from solar energy to recycling.
Lindsay Fletcher works for the Wilmington-Cape Fear Home builders Association, a co-host for the conference along with UNCW's Cameron School of Business. She says anyone interested in growing a green business should attend.
"We're welcoming people to come out who have a product or idea they're trying to get off the ground and need capital, or people who have a current business and are trying to go in a more sustainable manner."
GE Hitachi's Eric Loewen, a distinguished researcher in the field of nuclear waste recycling, will deliver the keynote address.
