Green Building Council Dinner: Climate Change, Sea Level Rise, & Resilient Design

Stephanie Kelly, Jessica Wilson, and Larry Cahoon

The North Carolina Chapter of the US Green Building Councilis holding its signature social event on Thursday, May 12 at Bluewater Waterfront Grill in Wrightsville Beach: Climate Change, Sea Level Rise, & Resilient Design.  The buffet dinner, beginning at 6:00 pm,  features a student expo, presentations, and a panel discussion.  The goal is to explore ways a community of stakeholders can work together to adapt to a changing environment while reducing impact. Biologist/Oceanographer Dr. Lawrence Cahoon and Stephanie Kelly, the Education & Programs Chair of the Green Building Council, joined us in the studio to talk about the evening and the issues.

Topics for the three 20-minute presentations are Climate and Sea Level Rise (Dr. Cahoon); Resilient Design & the Coastal Dynamics Design Lab (Andrew Fox); and Adaptation & Climate Policy (Dr. Andy Keeler).
