CAPE FEAR MEMORIAL BRIDGE: Updates, resources, and context

Grant Money Available To Non-Profits From The Cape Fear Garden Club

Sandra Kittinger & Eileen Haley

Sandra Kittinger, the chair of the disbursement committee for the Cape Fear Garden Club, and Eileen Haley, the Garden Club's president-elect, joined us in the studio to talk about grants for local non-profit organizations.  The Garden Club has been running the Azalea Garden Tour as its main fundraiser for the last 63 years in order to provide grants for non-profit organizations. Last year, the Garden Club disbursed over $75,000 for New Hanover County projects.

All charitable non-profit organizations in New Hanover County are eligible to apply to receive funds for planting materials, soil additions or enhancements, and irrigation systems. Funded categories are beautification, conservation, education, schools, inspiration/memorials, philanthropic, and endowment scholarship.

Listen (above) to Sandra and Eileen talk about projects that have been previously been funded and how to apply for grants this year.  The deadline to apply June 15, 2016. The grant application is online.
