Friday Feedback for November 23, 2012

I made a small donation to your fall fund pledge drive and received a very nice coffee mug. When I looked at it, of course, it was "MADE IN CHINA." When living in another area of the country, one of the local radio stations gave away coffee mugs. They contracted a local potter to supply a unique version of their mug. It was different as well as supporting the local community. Just a suggestion, it would be nice if the mug said "MADE IN USA" or even better "MADE IN WILMINGTON NC!" p.s. I love your radio station, it's the only one I listen to.
Last week I read some Feedback critical of a commentary by Annie Gray Johnston. Others have weighed in with different views. Listener Louise wrote:
AG, you are the best! Love this TRUE hilarious commentary!

Hilarious! You deserve a syndicated print column. I liked them all too but the car wash -- guess I'm just old!
Our weekly broadcasts of Intelligence Squared on Sunday evenings seems to be born under a bad sign. Last Sunday’s broadcast was impaired, for the second time in the last few weeks. Thanks to all who commented on it. The debate topic was “The World Would Be Better Off Without Religion.” Listener Nancy thanked us for re-scheduling, and said
[We are] eager to see how the debate concludes on the show.
We are reviewing our procedures to make sure we can prevent this from happening again, and we apologize for the error.
Last week I read a comment about one of our stories on a proposed public access cable channel for Wilmington. Steve Lee wrote about a follow-up story:
[A] comprehensive report! Nice job.
Max Grant pointed out that contrary to the remarks of Bishop Williams in the story,
High school sports are already televised and streamed live by NHCS on the county's educational access channel and via the internet. This based is covered.

[I] Listen to [your] Wilmington station all the time. Tried the Myrtle Beach station, nothing. Is it a very low wattage station? I am in Calabash and am closer to Myrtle than Wilmington.
I wrote to Robert that in Calabash the primary signal at 91.3 would be stronger than the 98.9 from downtown Myrtle Beach. That signal is a low-power repeater, a/k/a translator. It does well from about Myrtle Beach airport area up to around Hwy 22 in North Myrtle Beach, when 91.3 takes over.
We’d love to hear from you on Friday Feedback, for your questions and comments, likes and dislikes about any aspect of the station. Please fill out our Listener Survey.
