Calling it HQR instead of WHQR seems stupid. . . Just a stupid move. - Krista
Today is the last day for our Spring Listener Survey. We’ll give away a Smooth Landing or Classical Guest DJ-ship to one respondent, drawn at random. See whqr.org for details. Here are some nuggets from the Survey so far. Anonymous wrote: “Coastline is unremarkable, needs some life breathed in. . .1A is a terrible successor to Dianne Rheem. Josh the host is ateurish, sometimes unnecessarily combative, and rudely uninformed. (Opinionated tone and insterted noise does not substitute for intelligence).” A different Anonymous wrote: “CoastLine has an excellent moderator.”

A little too much Aaron Copland on Classical HQR; Use "more than" rather than "over" when referring to quantity in underwriting messages (" . . . with more than 50 locations . . . " vs " . . . with over 50 locations . . . " (same for fewer/less than vs under)

Calling it HQR instead of WHQR seems stupid. It's never announced consistently, at least I can't see consistency. Why did you make the change? Is an extra letter that hard to say? 4 call letters are how it's done everywhere else. Just a stupid move.
For Krista and others, WHQR is the legal name of our station at 91.3. We do identify it, as required by the FCC, at the top of each hour, and certain other times. We cannot identify the classical station as WHQR – it is legally W224CX, and we identify it that way 3 times a day, as required. “HQR” is shorthand – a brand, if you will – that many people have used for decades to refer to 91.3. Now we use it as shorthand for both.

Front St Blues on too late. Please continue to base reporting on fact & science & truth. DO NOT be intimidated or back off because some accuse you of being "liberal" via, etc. Facts are facts and it takes courage to call it what it is. The media is important, especially now!

Great station! Wonderful on-air voices. Thanks so much for your good work on our behalf. Need to consider incorporating an African American perspective via SE NC oldies and especially, R&B music.
