Fire Destroys House on Bald Head Island

Wilmington, NC – A fire Monday night destroyed a home on Bald Head Island.

Fire Chief Chip Munna says the house was engulfed in flames by the time someone called 911 at around 7:50 p.m.

He says it took more than 50 firefighters an hour and a half to put out the blaze. He says nobody was home at the time. The fire caused an estimated $1.1 million in damages.
