Forward Motion Dance is ready to perform its yearly bonanza. As always, a collection of diverse talents have been weaved together to create this multimedia show, called Cape Fear Arts in Motion: Duets, Pirouettes, and Silhouettes.
Founder and Director of the company, Tracey Varga, joined us to talk about the collaboration involved this year. Imagine this: local dancers will dance to music composed and played by local musician Joe Cordaro. Violinist Danijela Zezelj-Gualdi and guitarist Robert Nathanson will accompany the dancers in various pieces, while local artist Doug Campbell has created sculptural work as a part of the set design. There's more! A new short film by Patrick Ogelvie created in collaboration with dancers is also a part of the evening.
It's hard to determine exactly how many local performing & visual artists are involved in this performance, but there are clearly more than a handful. There are just 3 opportunities to experience this event: Thursday, 9/17 at 8:00 + Friday, 9/18 at 1:00 & 8:00. Performances are at Thalian Hall-tickets are available at the theater or online.
