Cucalorus: Racial Rewind & The Wilmington Ten

Wilmington, NC – Hundreds of filmmakers and movie buffs will make their way to Wilmington next week for the 15th Annual Cucalorus Film Festival.

The festival has grown from one night of screening movie shorts in a Wilmington restaurant to multiple venues showing more than 150 films, documentaries and shorts from around the globe.

Festival Director Dan Brawley says Cucalorus is bringing back the Racial Rewind Series. This year, it features a documentary on the group of civil rights activists known as the Wilmington Ten who were at the center of a race riot in the 1970's. Brawley says the Racial Rewind Series is a key event.

Brawley says members of the Wilmington Ten will take part in the discussion after the film
