Communique: Wilmington Symphonic Winds Presents "Fiesta," Latin Music By Marquez, Ginastera, Texidor

Oct 26, 2016

Wilmington Symphonic Winds was formed just 2 years ago, but it has already received a great deal of attention for the quality of its concerts. The band recently caught the eye of composer Mark Camphouse, who is creating a piece of music specifically for the Wilmington Symphonic Winds. We won't hear that music for 2 years, but the band does have concert this weekend called Fiesta-Sunday, October 30 at 7:00 at Kenan Auditorium. Clarinetist Tom Smicklas joined us to talk about the band's contact with composer Mark Camphouse and the Fiesta Concert. Listen to Smicklas above. We also have a Web Extra, with Smicklas talking about how Wilmington Symphonic Winds is funded.
