Wilmington Symphonic Winds (WSW) performs its final concert of the 2015-16 season on Father's Day at 7:00 pm at Kenan Auditorium. Music From Around the World features Italian, French, Russian, Cuban, and American pieces conducted by Dr. John LaCognata. WSW came on the scene two years ago when clarinetist Tom Smicklas was inspired to create a symphonic band with professional musicians in the region. Dr. LaCognata joined us to talk about the band, the difference between a band and a symphony, and what to expect at the Sunday concert. Listen above.
Tickets are available by calling Kenan Box Office at 910-962-9500 or at the door (doors open at 6:00). Tickets are $12; students/seniors $8; family pack for $25.
