CAPE FEAR MEMORIAL BRIDGE: Updates, resources, and context

Communique: "The War & Treaty"; Unique Music, Unique Story

The War & Treaty

*Update: the August show at Juggling Gypsy has been postponed until November. Stay tuned!*

Veteran Michael Trotter, Jr. began his musical career on Saddam Hussein's piano. He met the acclaimed singer Tanya Blount at a Love Fest- they became musical partners and life partners. The music they make together, and with cellist Thillman Benham, is just another layer of metaphor that points beyond the everyday. These are 3 musicians with soul and grit.  The mission to confront social ills with love coalesces in the band The War and Treaty, playing live at the Juggling Gypsy in November.

Listen to the interview above to hear about the piano in Iraq and the philosophy of the band. Below, find two extra interview segments regarding the meeting of Michael and Tanya and the naming of the band.
