Cinematique Presents: "Spotlight"

Thursday, March 10

4pm & 7 pm

Thalian Hall Main Stage

Spotlight, winner of the 2016 Best Picture Academy Award, tells the riveting true story of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Boston Globe investigation that would rock the city and cause a crisis in one of the world's oldest and most trusted institutions. When the newspaper's tenacious "Spotlight" team of reporters delve into allegations of abuse in the Catholic Church, their year-long investigation uncovers a decades-long cover-up at the highest levels of Boston's religious, legal, and government establishment, touching off a wave of revelations around the world.

"This is why Spotlight's moral of humility is so powerful. There are so many things that we don't know, so many assumptions that we don't recognize as such, so many questions that we haven't even thought to ask." - Christopher Orr, The Atlantic

"It's not a stretch to suggest that Spotlight is the finest newspaper movie of its era, joining Citizen Kane and All the President's Men in the pantheon of classics of the genre." - Ann Hornaday, Washington Post
