Cinematique Presents: "Grandma"

Monday-Wednesday, October 26-28, 7 pm

Wednesday, October 28, 4 pm

Thalian Hall Main Stage

Lily Tomlin is Elle, a lesbian poet coping with the recent death of her long-term life partner. When her granddaughter, Sage, arrives on her doorstep pregnant and in need of cash fast, she is plunged into a road trip that inevitably forces her to confront the past while her granddaughter confronts the future. Director Paul Weitz chronicles their funny and heartbreaking journey in this wonderful character study.

"Lily Tomlin delivers an Oscar-worthy performance in "Grandma" - funny, rattled, cranky, worried, aggressive, vulnerable and loving." - Tom Long, Detroit News

"Short, tart, yet unexpectedly sweet, Paul Weitz's Grandma is a small-scale character study - and, because that character is played by the great Lily Tomlin, it's mesmerizing, right up until its final frame." - Moira MacDonald, Seattle Times
