Census Seeking Hundreds of Workers

Wilmington, NC – The U.S. Census Office for southeastern North Carolina says it has hundreds of openings for across the region.

Tony Osticco says he especially needs applicants for jobs in Bladen, Columbus and Pender counties. And he's encouraging people to come to the Wilmington Census Office, take the quiz and see if they qualify.

"We will give you at least a week training, prior to your leaving here. So if you can read and write and speak, we probably have a position for you."

Osticco says he's looking for people to do door-to-door. The Wilmington Census Office is hiring now through the end of April, with a need for some 1,500 workers by the end of March.

Pay is $11.25 an hour plus mileage
