Tim Costello
Board MemberTim and wife Kim Nelson have lived in Wilmington since 2005. Tim has worked for 30 years in Pharmaceutical R&D for companies from small biotech to large multinational pharma companies. His focus is inventing, scaling, and supervising the production of clinical and commercial supplies of novel pharmaceutics.
Tim was raised in South Florida, graduated from Duke with a BS in Chemistry (also learning there he “grew up too far south the be Southern”!) and received a PhD from University of Pittsburgh.
As a long time supporter of public radio, it was a very pleasant bonus when moving to Wilmington to find WHQR, a public radio station unique as a stand-alone station. Tim and Kim recently chaired the successful “emPowering our Future” Capital Campaign Committee, helping to keep the future bright for WHQR. Tim believes that politics really is local and therefore looks forward to continuing the WHQR mission of providing a place for community engagement and the promotion of civil discourse.
