Nick Rhodes has been a resident of Wilmington, NC for fourteen years. He received his BS degree in Economics from North Carolina A&T State University and a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. He received an MA degree in Education from Pepperdine University and an MBA in Business from Western New England College. He served for twenty one years in the United States Air Force which included duty stations throughout the United States, Asia and the Middle East. After retiring from the Air Force he worked as a management consultant in business process improvement for consulting firms in the Washington, DC including PricewaterCoopers before retiring in 2001. He was elected and served a four year term on the New Hanover County Board of Education. He also served four years as a member of the Board of Directors for WHQR radio. Nick is also a member of the Cameron Executive Network in the Cameron School of Business at UNC-Wilmington where he is a guest lecturer and mentor for undergraduate business students. He is a member of the Wilmington Downtown Rotary and 100 Black Men of Coastal North Carolina. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors for several non-profit organizations including: Communities In Schools of Cape Fear, The Domestic Violence and Shelter Services, Inc. of Wilmington, Kids Making It.
