Jim Downey

Jim and his wife Lisa Coats, moved to Wilmington in June of 2011 from New Jersey where he lived the first 50 years of his life. After working at Schlumberger's Princeton Technology Center for 31.5 years, he happily retired and began his dream job at Jim Downey Glass LLC. Making glass art is now Jim's passion and his work can be found in over 20 galleries around the United States.

"WHQR was one of the most attractive features in the decision to move to the Wilmington area. The local programming and the staff are the best people and I wanted to help the station in any way I could". From answering the phones during the pledge drives to donating ornaments for the tree during the Holiday Shorts program, Jim joined to CAB to help in a more substantial way.
