Jeff Barnes Jeff Barnes moved to Wilmington in August, 2015, after a career that allowed him to live and work in 8 US states and 3 foreign countries-Budapest, Hungary; Shanghai, China and Abu Dhabi, U.A. E.
Jeff grew up in Parkersburg, WV, and received his BA in sociology and his MS in counseling from West Virginia University. He worked for 8 years at Parkersburg Community College as the Director of Counseling and Dean of Students. Jeff joined industry in 1984, first with Borg-Warner Chemicals, which was subsequently purchased by GE. He retired from GE in late 2013 after a 30-year career that included progressively responsible HR and corporate university roles. His final role was Dean of the famed GE Crotonville Campus. Jeff currently has a part-time consulting practice.
He and his wife, Karen, have two grown sons, Justin, an attorney with the US government, and Bryan, a boat captain on the island of ST. John.
