Dan Bruneau

Community Advisory Board Chair

Dan Bruneau relocated to southeastern North Carolina in 2016 after living the previous five years in Southern California.  He is a longtime supporter of public radio as well as an experienced professional communicator.  Bruneau spent 14 years as a reporter and editor for newspapers in his home state of Wisconsin and North Carolina.  He worked in public affairs at Raleigh-Durham International Airport before joining the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), where he has held several positions in communications management in North Carolina, Baltimore, Washington, DC and Los Angeles.

Bruneau earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin—Eau Claire and a law degree from the University of Wisconsin—Madison.  He also holds certificates in mediation from the University of California—Santa Barbara, project management from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and leadership from the Federal Executive Institute in Charlottesville, Va.  In addition to his work for VA, he has conducted numerous workplace mediations for several other federal agencies.

He and his wife Susan Fishbein, a talented artist, are enjoying life in the Wilmington area and are eager to become more knowledgeable about and involved in the community.
